The Mission of the Hampshire County Cancer Coalition (HCCC) is to educate the public about cancer prevention through education, information, action, and advocacy.

The HCCC was formed in 1993 and is a community-based group dedicated to fighting cancer and improving the health of Hampshire County residents.  HCCC is a growing coalition of:

• Cancer Patients & Survivors

• Caregivers, families, friends, and loved ones of those diagnosed with cancer

• Concerned Citizens

• Local Healthcare Professionals and Businesses

The Hope Seekers - Cancer Support Group meets:  4th Saturday, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Bank of Romney Community Room, 95 E. Main St., Romney, WV 26757.  Click here for upcoming programs. 

The Facts About Cancer*:

• Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US.

• On an average day in West Virginia 29 people are diagnosed with invasive cancer. This includes 5 who are diagnosed with lung cancer, 4 with colorectal cancer, 4 with prostate cancer, and 4 with breast cancer.

• Hampshire County has cancer incidence rates that are statistically significantly higher than the West Virginia rate.
